“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Verse

Devotion

Anxiety is taking tomorrow’s problem and dragging it into today.

Most of what you worry about never happens. And the things that do happen are rarely as bad as you imagined. What wears you down is not the problem itself — it’s the exhausting rehearsal of it in your mind over and over.

Peter was writing to people who were suffering — under pressure, in uncertain times. He did not say, “You shouldn’t worry.” He said, “Cast all your anxiety on him.” Cast — that is an active word. You let go. He catches. You release. He receives.

You don’t have to eliminate all your worries at once. You just need to hand over today’s portion. Today.

Reflection Question

· What are you worrying about today? Can you tell whether it’s a real crisis that needs your action — or a fear you’ve rehearsed in your mind? If it’s real, what is one step you can take? If it’s only imagined, can you release it to God?
