“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
— Hebrews 12:1-2
Devotion
You have been carrying more than you were meant to carry. The weight of finishing. The weight of proving. The weight of making sure everything works. And somewhere along the way, the race became a burden instead of a calling.
The writer of Hebrews does not say “run faster.” He says “lay aside every weight.” He says “fix your eyes.”
Not on the obstacles. Not on the timeline. Not on what others think. Fix your eyes on Jesus.
He is not just the starting point of your faith—He is also the finisher. The One who completes what He started in you does not need you to finish in your own strength. He only asks you to keep running, one step at a time, with your eyes on Him.
You don’t need to see the whole path today. You just need to take the next step.
Reflection
What weight are you carrying today that was never meant for your shoulders? What would it look like to lay it down?
